![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There had been rumors that Epps could potentially enter the transfer portal back in December, but since that time, he had appeared to be locked in and committed to playing at BYU this season. This is a move that caught coaches, teammates and anyone else around BYU by surprise. Now, barring something even more unexpected than his entrance into the transfer portal, Epps will be playing for another team in 2023. Epps was a standout throughout spring practices, had been one of the faces of the program on social media and BYUtv, and was positioned to compete to be BYU's top wide receiver in 2023. The wide receiver position was arguably the weakest unit on BYU's roster, and one of the projected 'Big Three' players is now leaving the room. The blow to the BYU offense is obvious, there is no sugar coating that. April 30 is, of course, the final day of the spring transfer portal window before players would be unable to enter their name into the portal without having an undergraduate degree in hand. ![]() Just when BYU was thinking they had made it out of the spring transfer portal window without any major hits to the projected depth chart, wide receiver Kody Epps entered the transfer portal today. ![]()
